The speciality around Side is fish & seafood, fresh from the sea and river. There are numerous restaurants near the harbour which serve a wide variety of cuisine inc seafood, kebabs, specialities of meat and chicken dishes. Enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere overlooking the waterfront. You may also wish to try Turkish flatbread (pizza) which is thinner than Italian pizza but tasty nevertheless. (remember - muslims do not eat pork or ham but you will find plentiful of lamb or chicken)
The Apollo Temple in the old town has various bars serving a variety of cocktails. At the end of the pedestrian zone in Side, next to the harbour, there is a lighthouse in a small peninsula. This is the open air lighthouse disco where, in season, Turkish popstars make live appearances.
Another very popular disco is the Oxyd which is located in the outer part of the old town of side and has a very interesting architecture which was mainly inspired by a historical church in Morocco. If you get too hot you can always cool off in the disco's swimming pool! The disco's capacity is more then 3000 and it is especially very popular at the weekends.
